Free Will

I'm feeling all philosophical lately. Today, lets talk about free will. Do you believe you have free will? As in, do you believe the decisions you made are not controlled.

Before answering it, let me provide some back ground physics. We all know everything is governed by laws of physics. Gravity, magnetization, electricity and such. Those are unbreakable. And expanding from those basic laws of physics comes your health condition, your knowledge on certain aspects, and maybe your wealth. Therefore, when you make a decision, it's all based on these laws of physics. Whether you decide to order steak in a restaurant, or accept the new job offer, or jump off a bridge. Everyone and everything follows the same basic laws of physics. If today I built a robot programmed to follow the same laws of physics and make decisions based on it, does that mean the robot has free will? Say for example, I program the robot to order hot chocolate at Strabucks if the weather is below a certain degree, and order cold OJ if above it. Then does the robot have free will? Doesn't seem like it, since I programmed it to follow my orders. However, if not knowing the robot was pre-programmed, one might think it has a free will on its own. That was just a simple example. Humans make decisions based on a more complex thought process. Maybe then I'll upgrade my robot to have a series of condition checks, such as checking the weather, checking his own body temperature, checking his wallet, and make a decision from that. Still, it's all bounded by laws of physics. And everything becomes predictable. In the end, you and the robot I built are no different.

You think you have free will, but in reality, all your decisions are based on the laws of physics. Therefore, you follow what has been programmed into you. Free will is just an illusion.

What is Happiness?

Are you happy about your current life? How do you actually define a person being satisfied and happy?

The main goals in a person's life can probably be summarized into three categories:

- Work/Education
- Relationship
- Health

Not yet have I known an actual person reached the top in all three categories in their life. With the time at hand, a person can only achieve two at most of the mentioned three objectives. So which one are you willing, or is currently, giving up of the three?

Want to take pictures

Yes, I want to go out and take pictures. My Lasandra is crying again. But I'm lacking ideas (and lenses). Anyone up for photo shooting over the weekend?

Long Due Update

If people actually still read my xanga, does that mean I should update it more often?

But I am kind of tired right now, so I will finish with a better post than this one tomorrow.
